Best Buddies is a Friendship program that builds one-to-one friendships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Best Buddies encourages building friendships and inclusion. Best Buddies requires members to participate in friendship lunches and one event after school monthly.

Be on the lookout for the Best Buddies Call Out meeting in the fall.

Vocal and Handbell Choirs are open to 4th and 5th grade students at Ike.  Both groups practice once per week and showcase their talents with two performances.

Calling all math lovers!

Crazy 8's Math Club is a hands on math club that meets once per week for 8 weeks in the spring.  We do some pretty fun stuff like Glow in the Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice Explosion and Spy Training!

Crazy Eight's has two separate groups. One for students in K - 2nd and another for our 3rd - 5th grade friends.

The Art Club is open to 4^th and 5^th grade students who love to draw and who are very creative and able to work well with others.

In the club, students will be able to create and use their talent in creating detailed art projects. Students will also be doing some school community-based art projects throughout the year. Students will be able to gain a better understanding of how the visual arts are so important in our everyday lives and how it can positively impact our community.

Library Club is an in-school club where students are given jobs and responsibilities in the library.  Students collect books from classrooms, shelve books, label books, deliver materials and learn all about how the library works!  Library Club members take pride in the work they do. It is a fun and rewarding club at Eisenhower.   

Library Club is only open to 4th and 5th grade students.

Try out information will be announced after winter break.  Involvement in this club is test based with the highest 20 scores chosen to represent our school.

Students are chosen for NEHS based on the four pillars of Honor Society: service, character, scholarship and citizenship. Through NEHS, students participate in meaningful service projects to the school and community and develop essential leadership skills.  NEHS sponsors a coat drive, several appreciation projects for our teachers, and St. Baldrick’s.  Our St. Baldrick’s team works hard every year to raise money for childhood cancer.  You can be part of the team as a shavee or a volunteer.

Does you have a love for writing? Does using your creativity to write articles and interviewing teachers sound like a blast? If so, newspaper club is for you!

Newspaper Club is open to our 4th and 5th Grade students.  Students for this club need to be responsible and able to submit their articles on a deadline. 

The members of this club are selected based on the most outstanding applications and teacher recommendations.

Each 4th and 5th grade will have class representatives. We participate in meaningful service projects such as the food drive, Angel Tree, and Penny Wars.  Student Council also runs a bookstore.

The Student Council bookstore is open every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school in the main hallway.  We sell a wide range of items from 25¢ to $3.00.   Parents can even have the bookstore visit your child's classroom for their birthday, you choose the amount per student!

In Photography Club students learn how to use a digital camera, camera techniques, and how to edit a photo. At the end of the year,  students pick their best picture and they are displayed in the library for a "Photo Walk".  Photography Club is open to 5th grade students.

Science Olympiad is a hands on science program open to 5th grade students. Students are required to take a written test and are chosen based on test scores.

These are the four events for Science Olympiad:

1.  Aerodynamics – make and fly a paper airplane (hang time is calculated)

2.  Marshmallow Catapult – make a catapult with popsicle sticks and

3.  Paper Columns – build the sturdiest paper column structure to hold books on top

4.  Straw Structures – build the tallest self-supporting straw structure

In Service Club students will promote service, support, and philanthropy throughout Eisenhower Elementary school and the community. This club will meet on designated Thursdays before school at 8:00 AM  to work on the identified service project(s) for that month, decided upon by group members.  Examples of (tentative) project ideas include: “Have a Heart for Animals” annual Lake Co Animal Control fundraiser in February, making cards for senior citizens in nursing homes, collecting blankets for a homeless shelter, writing letters for the troops during the holidays, and writing positive and inspirational notes on coffee sleeves for Café Fresco Crown Point.

Service Club is open to 2nd and 3rd grade students.

Do you have a knack for spelling hard words? Are you ready to show your spelling talent? If so, Spell Bowl is perfect for you. Students are required to test for this club with 16 students chosen. Students are encouraged to attend morning practices and the top 8 get the chance to compete in the yearly competition.

Spelling City

Do you love Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics?  Eisenhower STEM Club encourages students to be problem-solvers and critical thinkers using hands-on activities that are both fun and challenging.  Activities will include teamwork challenges and working with robots known as the Mini Sphero, which will require students to learn basic coding skills.  STEM club meets weekly for 8 weeks and is open to 3rd and 4th grade students.
